Microlocs, a smaller version of traditional locs, lock the hair by either twisting, rolling, coiling, or palm rolling sections of hair.

What are Microlocs?

Small locs created with a tightly woven framework to allow tightly textured hair to maintain small manicured set of locs.  The small diameter of the loc makes them manageable and very easy to style.

They require commitment and regular maintenance but offer a unique way to celebrate natural hair and enjoy a distinct loc style.

Key Characteristics and Aspects of Microlocs:

  1. Size and Uniformity: Microlocs are slightly larger than Sisterlocks® and uniform in size. They do not typically have a precise parting grid system, however have a neat appearance.

  2. Maintenance: Like Sisterlocks®, Microlocs require regular maintenance, involving re-tightening each individual loc. This should be done to keep the locs looking well-groomed.

  3. Versatility: Microlocs allow for various hairstyles. Styles include updos to loose curls, and they can be adorned with beads, ribbons, or other accessories.

  4. Scalp Health: Microlocs gentle on the hair follicles. They allow for better airflow and reduce the tension on the scalp, making them a suitable choice for individuals concerned about scalp health.
