Retightening
Retightening
Microlocs or Sisterlocks retightening is essential for maintaining the appearance and integrity of your locs. It restablishes the tightness and neat appearance of each microloc.
The frequency of retightening sessions may vary based on personal preference and hair growth rate, so it's important to discuss this with your loctician to establish the right schedule for your needs.
You may need retightening if:
New Growth: As your hair continues to grow, the roots loosen from the established locs. If you notice that your microlocs are have visible new growth and appear frizzy, it's a sign that you need retightening.
Loose or Unraveled Microlocs: Retightening is necessary to restore their tightness and uniformity of unravelling or less defined locs.
Maintenance Schedule: Many individuals with Microlocs and Sisterlocks have a regular maintenance schedule, typically every 4-8 weeks. This depends on hair growth speed and appearance of the microlocs.
Appearance: If you feel that your microlocs are not looking groomed as you desire.
